He is dull, and he cannot write. And yet he is given a newspaper column. I don’t like it when people quote dull columnists stating the bleeding obvious. You read too much into my comments.

Their entire appeal is built on the wrong assumption that the prime minister somehow abhors the wrongdoing. He planned it, for God’s sake. He wanted it this way.

BANISH THE WORD “NAPPELLA”. You don’t appeal to an evil people in the hope that they’ll do some good. You stop them.

Besides, it puts you in a position of weakness. 1) It makes you a passive receiver at best, because it’s the person being appealed to who must do the action. 2) It declares to the electorate that you are powerless unless the victor/dictator is magnanimous. It reeks of begging.

There is a way forward. It is to internalise what many of us have been repeating for five years now. Treat Labour as if it was a normal political adversary, and the people will have justified contempt for the Nationalist Party.

If you want things to be set right, do it when you’re in power. Otherwise, do not expect good from the evil.

Honestly, you despise Muscat’s capability with language and the art of outrage he mastered in 2013, then you do the same with identical clutching of pearls to put Mercieca outside the window.

We have an issue with free speech if people ON OUR SIDE must be demonised.

I don’t read his pieces, watched him a couple of times on TV, so he’s a populist.

No matter how much we wish to have a world with clear-thinking people, family and otherwise, it may not turn out like that. Mind you, they would probably see us as delusional and themselves as speaking rationally, because that is they way that can see things, perhaps the only way.

Some things will never change. I used to get upset, but not any more. I just avoid conversations with people that would be futile, or avoid the people altogether. If they are dear to me, I just want to leave things on a positive note.

Then again, not all are up to these types of discussions. My acid-test in the date domain is Daphne’s Running Commentary. There are some sweet guys out there, but when I note that they bristle at her name, I take it as a sign to take a break.

So I will chip in for the next crowdfunding, which is my ‘voice’.

Chip in regardless. Don’t let them silence you, even if it’s futile, even if it ruins your day as it does mine- every single day. The real dinner table conversations I participate in are far more sordid than Baxxter’s script.

I’ve just had to defend the freedom of the press, for fuck’s sake. Even when they do it just to get a rise out of me, I still voice my opinion because it’s important.

My real problem is that I get too angry, I can’t really have a civil conversation any more. I mean bloody hell I’m not discussing spring hunting or the merits or demerits of grammar schools. I’m being outnumbered by people dear to me who ostracise what should be inalienable freedoms.

It’s really torn me apart from the inside and I’d rather just shut up and get on with it.

I know I can’t win but I’m doing it anyway, because there’s no way I am going to let this shit pass within earshot, at least not until the general election is over.
