Ultras, to me, is immediately a contraction of “ultra vires” : and on a campaign T-shirt, serves as a provocation to underline that they are a mob functioning “outside the power of the law.”

Unfotunately that slogan is probably pretty spot on. If with all that has happened in the past 4 years the Nationalist Party is still lagging behind then it seems like the Labour Ultras will be celebrating another victory whilst the rest of us have another 5 years of paying the price of incompetence and corruption.

Ultras is still used to describe the most violent factions of supporters. In Italy, these groups are usually linked to Fascism.
