I agree completely. The clue is that sentence in the statement which he himself wrote for the press: that I have been attacking, lying and slandering the DB group and those associated with it for weeks on end.

Like all narcissists, he turns vicious when criticised or thwarted: a Jekyll to Hyde shift which is quite extraordinary.

Exactly. Anti-politica is on the rise. This was always Muscat’s intention, he calculates losses to both sides to keep numerical advantage. Expect an onslaught of scandals relating to the previous administration to kill politics as we know it and a cultural war on Facebook in the therapeutic form of self-indulging political discourse, Guardian style.

Muscat will disintegrate what’s left of Labour if he has to, make the shift to full crony capitalism and bolster victimhood and identity politics calling it the new centre.

It’s been something rather noticeable on the Independent itself, ultra-liberal in tone and dovetailing with Maltatoday’s openly radical agenda. Both implying bigger government and rights a matter of state sanctioned privilege. Yes, we noticed, months ago.

We now have the left pole in Malta, where anything not filtered through their lens is the big bad ‘right’. The enemy is crony capitalism, the only form they tolerate.

This is why the PN must shift into popular sentiment bottom up. It cannot win if it does not choose to face the predictable barrage from voices defending the new establishment unwittingly, and not, validating Muscat in the process.

In reply to Daphne Caruana Galizia. I used to follow Lorry Sant and his criminals way back in the 80s and I know the feeling. As for Savour Balzan it's time he realises that he's being used by the corrupt clique to defend them instead of investigating them.

At this point The Malta independent should consider Rachel Attard’s position as news editor. That position is no longer tenable.

You can’t be a journalist and at the same time live with someone who has turned against the only truly independent voice in the country.

She can’t work on stories about people who are paying her household thousands. There’s too much of a conflict of interest, and unfortunately it really shows.

I hope this is published. I understand friendship but this goes beyond.
