On the contrary, a think-tank needs to be led by people who can make intelligent choices, and who can make their choices and their reasons public.

The trouble with Today (name’s too bloody long) is the leadership is neither intelligent nor conviction. They’re just a bunch of obsequious posers congratulaing each other and trying hard to not to offend anyone.

No, I am not implying that at all. Those who know socialist history in Malta know very very well what they are always up to when they are in power. But before 2013 things were not rosy either. Malta went through a difficult time and it was all through PN’s fault, lack of planning, bad choice of candidates, too long in power etc..

It is Malta’s history that we never seem to make it beyond a certain point and instead of moving forward, we claw back.

The man comes from an excellent pedigree, had an illustrious career, and a top job in Brussels with a rank equivalent to Brigadier General. And yet? His ego and his inexperience with Malta’s Labour scum were his downfall. His first big mistake was lobbying for a change in government; the rest is history. Pity.
