The French Interior Minister has had to resign after it became known that he had employed his two daughters as parliamentary assistants and paid them the grand total of €55,000 over seven years.

Why do the French make such a fuss? Sai Mizzi pockets that amount in less than five months, and her husband shows no intention of going anywhere.

And yet Noddy and friends are more interested in daily conferences on alleged donations of 70,000 euros to the Nationalist Party, covering up the millions of camouflaged donations to the Labour Party by the fourth floor visitors co-ordinated by Sandro Chetcuti.

And I hadn’t realised, until I read the comments under The Times’ story, that the hiring of the 150 could lead to resentment among PL supporters in areas outside Mizzi’s district. Splendid. This isn’t all bad news.

On what grounds should the opposition challenge the appointments?

WSC needs the jobs, because it wants to ameliorate its service.

Has an election date been officially announced?

To whom will the new WSC employees AND THEIR RELATIVES be voting to secure the job?

There are two different scenarios:

By criticising the appointments the PN stands a chance to win the elections by a hair.

By challenging in court these appointments, the PN will have to start challenging the appointments by ALL the other ministries and will end up digging its own grave.

Fact: in 1987 KMB employed EIGHT THOUSAND with the public sector and government owned companies.

What is even worse is Konrad Mizzi pulled those men out of private employement and loaded them onto the taxpayer.

The vacancies created in thw private sector will now have to be filled by foreign workers, creating more pressure on demand for xhesp rental flats, and taking most of the money out of Malta.

Konrad is simply a corrupt megalomaniac who is burning the candle at both ends.
