Do stop whining and count the sequence of contradictions in your argument. What is it going to be: a Nationalist Party tainted like Labour, or something different?

It’s an open secret that everyone’s fed up of him and that his contribution to the Nationalist Party is so negligible that nothing will be lost if he leaves, and yet, because of the current scandal, much will be gained.

The party of which he is deputy leader is compromised because of his choices in his private practice.

Where the f#@$ was Demarco when he was supposed to be the cabinet member responsible for the Malta Environment and Planning Authority? No doubt cosying up to Silvio Debono.

Demarco thinks he’s indispensable. Somebody gave him that idea, and he’s holding onto it.

My point is not to defend Demarco. He did betray the trust of admirers including myself. I hate corruption as much as you all do but I think singling him out as the Nationalist Party’s biggest problem is a tad hypocritical.

Sure he associated with Debono but so did the whole party apparently. Sure he was participating in a stinky land-grab deal but other MPs are juicing Labour’s corrupt schemes too.

My point is that you’re either weeding all those MPs out to make your point or you are going to retain them all.

Besides, from a strategic point of view, I believe that internal strife is going to cause further damage to the Nationalist Party months before the election, and it simply cannot afford to lose more votes.
