I cannot understand how almost everyone cannot differentiate between donations and bribes. Let’s get real, WITHOUT the state-party-funding, no Party can survive today.

The Nationalist Party isn’t wrong in accepting donations from any business concerns. But it is immoral that donations are then used for ‘trading in influence’ (bribing/blackmailing) by the donor, and it is worse than immoral if the party gives in.

This mess was brought about solely by Joseph Muscat, and his fixation to win at all costs, when he organised those meetings with various businessmen at the MLP headquarters prior the 2013 election and got into ‘partnership’ with them. After all, it was mainly because of this ‘partnership’ that Joseph Muscat won the 2013 election.

What does Muscat need to do? To be suggesting to Busuttil what he has to do is sheer hypocrisy.

Muscat tried to use the good name of Dr. Vanni Bonello to fool people. When he got what he wanted, he flushed Bonello’s advice down the drain. With Busuttil it will be a completely different attitude.

Just care to notice who Muscat is appointing to lead criminal inquiries and then come and tell us what Muscat should do.

In reply to Daphne Caruana Galizia. Daphne, usually, or better still always, whatever you say is gospel to me (sorry for the straight translation from Maltese). But I am still not sure about all this. At the moment I too am feeling worried. Not because of self esteem this or self esteem that. Or that I am not a hundred percent sure of what the majority should vote for in the elections. But the fact is (not sure you experienced this in your circle of acquaintances) that wherever I go, and whoever I spoke to, from all different walks of life, everyone is sounding like gutted at the moment, because of this. Seeing Muscat come out of the grave again, to ride on top of this. Now, I really hope I am wrong, of course.
