Even if there was the will to investigate all this corruption, I doubt that the country has the capacity and the resources to do so.

Your reporting suggests to me that these past four years have seen corruption which I think surpasses that of the 1980s.

That was pretty bad for sure, but my impression is that the circle of ‘friends’ then was smaller than today.

There is no way he would have taken that car without his father’s knowledge and agreement. “Dad wasn’t too amused” is just playing cute in a girly way. Boys/men that age don’t speak that way – not unless the image they want to cultivate is “I’m one of the girls”.
