Muscat and his merry men will only get worse if allowed another term, and justified they will be if we the electorate votes them back in.

I’m sorry but expecting the PN to carry the full responsibility of that failure just isn’t on.

The Nationalist Party is a shambles. Simon Busuttil has been obliging the Prime Minister by lurching from one carefully set booby-trap to the next, while one of his deputy leaders has been dragging him down, giving his professional advice to make as tight-proof as possible a stinking deal to rob Malta. They really need a good kick in the arse.

This time round one can safely bet on the new candidates who have been vetted by the Candidate Selection Committee.

I voted for “fresh” blood and ended up with Franco Debono instead of Louis Galea and Helen D’Amato .

Yes, she is a nice person. There are nice people in this world. But to be nice back to that person you don’t land them with something they cannot handle.

They will end up making huge mistakes and that ‘nice person’ reputation they have been working on for so long goes out the window.

I just don’t understand people who think it is a kind thing to do. However, judging by how Muscat talks, he probably told her “Just think positive about it”, like that is going to be the magic wand that makes it all ok. It doesn’t.

Now the woman looks like a fool for taking the job, and a fool in general because she cannot do it. If I were her, I would stand up and apologise to the country, explain that she always thought she wasn’t fit for it but was talked into it, and that she was wrong to have taken it. That way she would be able to regain the ‘nice person’ reputation she used to have.

Well, you are wrong. The problem with Mario Demarco wasn’t created by talk. It was created by his actions, which in turn caused the talk. And the talk won’t stop just because you say so.

The talk is there because the problem is there. THAT’S WHY PEOPLE RESIGN. BECAUSE THERE IS TALK. BECAUSE THE TALK MAKES THEM A PROBLEM FOR THEIR ORGANISATION. I know that this is right outside the Maltese mindset. But there you are.

People resign when they bring their organisation into disrepute or pose a threat to the way in which it is perceived. They don’t have to commit a crime before they resign, you know. When you commit a crime the police come in, and then resignation is academic.

Unfortunately they too put incompetent individuals in key places. I am hoping that Simon Busuttil doesn’t make similar errors of judgement.

It holds that duty on behalf of the citizens of Malta, and not on behalf of its partisan supporters.

If an appointment is made to the chairmanship of a Constitutional authority, or state organisation, that will have deleterious effects on that authority or organisation, and therefore consequences for citizens, then the Opposition is OBLIGED to challenge that appointment – not lie in wait hoping that the appointment will indeed be disastrous so that it can score political points.
