I have nothing to say about the article. It is certainly for internal and nostalgic, inward-looking consumption. But I resent the disparaging remarks about Nemo.

If Malta does come across badly for flogging the EU passport Muscat campaigned so viciously against, it's about time the European Commission grew a pair and started shouting it from the rooftops. Ditto for the silent coup in the Police and Armed Forces. When you see arseholes like Juncker and Schultz, you feel jealous of Brexiteers.

The Maltese, and Maltese leaders, love to point fingers (oh how we love it), and Brexit has given them the finger-pointing material for the next two centuries. But Malta is as selfish as any of the EU states, and the champion of narrow self-interest.

We are a people without a shred of self-awareness. Which is why we fail to realise how badly we come across when Joseph Muscat sells European passports, and then chides Britain for leaving the EU, and promises harsh punitive measures. Yes, we.

Have you actually read the article? The author is on your side, i.e. the article laments Brexit. Far from being xenophobic, it points out that the UK has now lost control over negotiating conditions.
