In cases of money laundering there are normally a multiple transactions through different companies and different offshore jurisdictions in order to cover up the best as possible the source of money.

All these jurisdictions have their own data protection (confidentiality) legislation about clients, so it is more difficult to trace the flow of money.

At the end, for example, would be possible for beneficiary to be paid out as an online lottery winning. I have university degree in international trade and finances, and hope I have given a clue what could be the reason for having companies in different jurisdictions.

In reply to Daphne Caruana Galizia. The nominee direcors of offshore companies are usually people employed in the consulting company which incorporates and manage offshore company. The purpose is to hide the identity of those who actually control the offshore company. All proof of who owns the offshore company are held by consulting company, therefore it is easy to manipulate, change ownership, etc.
