Over the next few months leading to the next general election the government (or the Labour Party in government) will be showering people with benefits and promises, promising everything to everyone.

If and when that happens the public should be glad of it. After all a lot of what they will give is long overdue anyway.

BUT don’t forget what Mintoff used to say: li jaghtukom huduh, imma meta tigu ghall-vot wahidkom tkunu.

The people taken for fools will obviously take the money and feel even better when voting them out, just like when people accepted govrrnment jobs on the eve of an election and still voted Labour out in the past.
