Dishing out goodies is in itself a form of mind manipulation. It’s like grooming a child for bad intentions. Every party in power has the possibility of doing this but notwithstanding all this governments change because people see through this dishonesty.

In reply to Osservatore. The Prime Ministers of democratic countries do not throw the book at people and lock them up in prison. That is for the police and the Courts of Justice. Prime Ministers can obstruct justice, for example, by appointing a stooge Police Commissioner, sacking a Police Commissioner determined to investigate their cronies, and undermining other investigatory authorities. But they cannot put people in prison.
