I suggest you use common sense. He set up his Facebook page – the one through which he communicates mainly now – when he withdrew from public life. And why? Because he spends most of his time at home.

DO NOT LET THIS INQUIRY CONFUSE YOU. IT MEANS NOTHING. THE END RESULT GOES TO THE POLICE AND THE POLICE CAN SIMPLY CHOOSE TO LEAVE IT THERE.

I really don’t know what on earth all these people asking for documents are on about. It’s the exact same text I reproduced some days ago, printed on a piece of paper.

Exactly how is seeing it typed and scanned instead of written going to change anything?

People make me despair.

This takes me back to March last year, when I was literally SWAMPED by people telling me I should have hidden news of the Panama companies:

1. until Konrad Mizzi had to present his declaration in parliament;

2. until Konrad Mizzi had deposited money in it (like you can deposit money in a company);

3. until the general election two years hence;

4. until this, until that, until the other.

And why didn’t you do this – or that – or the other. I mean, really. The idea that news has a life of its own just doesn’t get anywhere in this country.

But it does. NEWS HAS A LIFE OF ITS OWN. And seeing a print-scan of what you have already seen typed out is not going to change anything.

It’s considered entirely normal in Malta for politicians to go after journalists with libel suits. It’s actually encouraged. People don’t seem to understand that the relationship between a journalist and a politician is fraught with symbolism and significance in a way that the relationship between two normal people suing each other is not.
