Speaking about licences has anyone heard from Prof. Bannister?

Pilatus Bank actually got its banking licence in August 2015. Those declarations of trust will have been drawn up expressly to open a bank account there as soon as the bank began operating.

What they don’t realise, because they’re too stupid, is that by following this train of thought they are implicitly admitting that it is wrong for Konrad Mizzi to have opened a Panama company.

They want “proof” for Egrant ownership, but when we had the proof for the Konrad Mizzi company, they had shifted this requirement from simple proof of “ownership” (like they want for Egrant) to proof of “funds movement”. In simpler words, their reasoning is condemning Konrad Mizzi.

According to the Panama Papers leaks, both Hearnville Inc and Tillgate Inc (and presumably even Egrant Inc) changed shareholding on 21 July 2015, from ATC Administrators Inc (Mossack Fonseca’s nominee company) to their respective trusts.

Since the declaration of trust is a mandatory document in the process of opening a bank account where a trust is involved, it is consistent that Egrant Inc produced it around this date and it would not be surprising to find similar documents for the other two companies with the same date.

All three companies seem to have had the intent of trading post August 2015 and presumably account opening forms would have been submitted to the bank during this period.

But it is an uphill struggle. I mean, I am convinced without needing to see any more “evidence”, but the electorate needs to be convinced, and they will buy into the “where’s the evidence” mantra.

How many have read or understood or acknowledge the reasoning in Ramona Depares’s article in the Times today, for example?

After all, this is essentially how organised crime survives, even in countries with checks and balances far superior to ours. Everyone knows, but “there is no proof.” Do we want living proof: John Dalli comes to mind.

Not only. We will now soon have “proof” of the Prime Minister’s innocence: the result of the inquiry requested by the Prime Minister, welcomed by none other than Pilatus Bank and Brian Tonna.

Unless the cavalry (the nameless “siehba”) can come to the rescue with some documents up her sleeve.

They should stop shaking hands with these scum.. It is so demeaning and looks so fake.
