The government stopped functioning more than a year ago when the Panama stiry broke, and has since been transfixed by the related allegations, so that part of the recommendation will be easy enough to achieve.

I would venture, however, that Mr. Craus’s intent here is to expose his employer’s seedy activities before the election.

What other reason would he have to confront these allegations head on when the Prime Minister continues to try to sidestep the issues?

Well actually, with evidence of graft and money laundering, all the laws are in place for the Commissioner or the Attorney General to arrest them and charge them.

Had John Dalli been in Malta he would have been arrested and charged, with far less weighty evidence than is apparently about to be released.

But we were a kind of normal country then. There is no need for a panel of judges at all. What we need is people to do their jobs, and if not, following an election, replacements for those people and laws to prevent subversion and subjugation of institutions.
