Yes, it was in the thick of the Egrant chaos. The Egrant story broke on Thursday and they ‘inaugurated’ the plant on Monday. A jetload of Azerbaijanis flew in on a state plane marked AZERBAIJAN, and they couldn’t even show them to the cameras because it was too…awkward.

If Electrogas files for bankruptcy , the shareholders would still end up with a profit, because the whole setup was overpriced .

The plant was costed at €308 million, the government stepped in as a guarantor for the Electrogas €650 million loan. That’s the price of TWO smokeless interconnectors supplying double the energy at half the cost.

Are the technical problems on the electrical generation side of the power station or elsewhere?

If the problem has to do with fuel supply then the BWSC plant could be out of action too if there is a fuel supply problem.
The idiots went fiddling with the BWSC because HFO is dirty they said, ignoring the fact that the BWSC has an abatement plant which reduces emissions.
