I don’t, actually. What you don’t know is that most of my light is well hidden under a bushel. Living in Malta makes that imperative because the island is full of people who are instantly threatened by anything that remotely resembles a sentence with two clauses or basic general knowledge. I leave the island occasionally for the sheer relief of being permitted to speak sense in proper sentences and have it treated as entirely normal rather than ego-threatening.

Tabatha_White, your reasoning is sound if applied to a modern, Western society with a mature political system and an educated voter base. In Malta we tick none of those boxes, as if we did, the PM would have resigned just over a year ago.

The only difference it will make is that the next time Labour are in power they will have an acting Commissioner throughout the legislature. How can you complain about the collapse of the institutions and then defend the current way things are done?

If there is a loophole to exploit, they will find it, but this move puts the brakes on blatant and flagrant abuse of power.

As to the judges you mention:If garbage in garbage out applied, this move is to ensure that not only does no garbage get in, but that the regulators in place to monitor their activity are primed to expel what managed to get in in the past.

Macron reacted in under 12 hours.

That’s a stark difference.

Le Pen was using boar shot for cartridge throughout the debate. Wrong ammunition.

She even managed to allude to a “compassion for homosexuals,” and to Macron being ruled by a woman.

She was also majorly caught out in her bluff with the Ecu.
