To complement what you said, I remember John Bonello as a big fan of Silvio Berlusconi and Alleanza Nazionale (at the time headed by Gianfranco Fini). I remember him as a prick back then too, and I used to think that this teenager (his age at the time) should get a life and maybe even get laid as he was clealry immature.

He had a grudge against everyone inside the PN. He was particularly hateful of women, from politicians to the administrative staff. He could not relate to them or he could not tolerate them (not sure exactly).

If we had to look at the silver lining in this dark cloud of the last five-six years, Joseph Muscat has managed to clean up the PN of its weakest links. Joseph Muscat is simply a magnet to people of this shady ilk.
