I do not think that Joseph Muscat sought this kind of international publicity for the reason behind this snap election – the scandal surrounding him. But then, he must be so desperate that he couldn’t care less.

Well he did mention that 2,500 journalists would be descending on the nation during the European presidency. What he failed to realise is that they would be reporting on his corruption.

This is going to be like unpleasant medicine. No avoiding it. Muscat made us sick. Dr Busuttil can make us all better. The key thing is to stress that we were infected by a particularly unpleasant carrier. Once we eradicate the virus we should be immune for the rest of our lives.

But this is all the Nationalist Party’s and Simon Busuttil’s fault. It is, after all, those exposing and reporting the crime who are in the wrong, not the perpetrator.
