This refers to the hard-working fraction of our society who have been working part-time as well as full-time. These are the same people who for the past four years have been the most irritated by ‘meritocracy’ and ‘direct appointments’ and who may perhaps be feeling betrayed by Muscat more than others are. Will they swallow the hook this time around? I doubt but we’ll see.
