The aim of a new government should be that no private commercial enterprise will be involved in the granting of Maltese citizenship.

I am truly enraged when I think of those people selling Maltese passports and then threatening the Maltese journalists who write about them.

They sell Hasheminejad a St Kitts & Nevis passport, make it possible for him to get around without his Iranian passport, and then both Pilatus Bank and Henley & Partners coincidentally approach Malta to do business, in 2012 when a looming general election is set to bring Muscat and his crooks to power.

I asked Christian Kalin: Did you meet and discuss the matter with the Labour Party BEFORE the general election? And the answer was yes.

But as I told Christian Kalin when I met him at his request some weeks ago, you can’t come to Malta and treat the place as though is a Caribbean sugar plantation. Just because our government is corrupt and is selling EU passports to all-comers, it doesn’t follow that Malta is not a member state of the European Union – which is exactly why you are here to sell passports.

I can’t help thinking what sort of murder they got away with in St Kitts & Nevis, with its weak democracy, its shaky institutions and its widespread ignorance, if they’re trying this on here in Malta.
