I do the same.

I will vote PN and go down the PN list as far as I can. But I will NOT vote for any candidate I have moral misgivings about.

I live in the Fifth District. I never voted Franco Debono, even way down the Nationalist Party list because the few times I met him, he made my internal alarm bells ring.

I remember quarrelling with a number of people who reasoned like you about the issue. But today I am proud to say that he never even got my last preference.

More importantly is to vote for ALL PN candidates, otherwise due to our single transferable vote system many PN votes could be lost.

It’s next to useless giving a No 1 to Simon Busuttil (or other popular candidates who are guaranteed re-election) and leave out the rest of the PN candidates because after that candidate is elected the vote would be lost.

The same happens if you vote 1 for a PN candidate then continue on AD or heaven forbid PL. When that PN candidate for whom you gave No 1 gets elected, your vote would be transferred to AD or PL, whichever was the case.

Of utmost importance is to write all consecutive numbers (in any preferred order) next to ALL the PN candidates ONLY.
