If my memory serves me right, both Joseph Muscat and Keith Schembri have argued that Keith is not a PEP (Politically Exposed Person) because he is not ‘elected’.

There is no doubt that he is, but if there was, with this little letter, signed by himself under OPM header and in which he states that he is Joseph’s ‘best friend’ (and vv), he is falling very nicely under the definition of a PEP ( See FATF recommendations : ‘close associate’). We got one admission, at least.

I would think that the financial security here means out of reach. If one gets involved in and is accused of money laundering, the first step by the courts is the freezing of all assets (but not if they are hidden in secretive jurisdictions).

The uncanny similarities between Muscat’s Castile and Trump’s White House never cease to amaze me. While our Prime Minister’s chief of staff is embroiled in the kickbacks for passports scandal (let’s not forget that Muscat is the chief hawker of those passports), the US President’s closest aide’s sister Nicole Kushner Meyer has been accused of hawking American visas in Beijing.

That`s what you get when you vote worshippers of Mammon into power.
