On the 9th May 1987, amidst state sponsored violence and police torture, criminal corruption, gerrymandering, rampant vote buying, voter fraud, voter intimidation and subversion of all state institutions, we voted out that corrupt government.

In a possibly misguided but well intentioned spirit of National Reconciliation, a veil was drawn over the past.

As a result on the 3rd of June we are facing a similar vote. All that is currently missing from the scenario is the physical manifestation of violence, although everything else is in place, and in some cases, intensified.

Given that we are talking about essentially the same people and/or their heirs it is imperative that we do not create false equivalences and succumb to the fallacy that all politicians are the same.

On the 3rd of June we must vote this corrupt government out, and follow that up with prosecutions and, as the evidence would seem to indicate, jail sentences.

We cannot just keep repeating the same cycle.
