Comments on: UPDATED/David Thake to stay on air throughout the general election campaign

I have just spent over five hours listening to the party radio station and am stumped. Apart from Thake’s show the rest sounded like a radio station belonging to an old people’s home.

As much as I have nothing against Charles Saliba, his show was a waste of airtime. The music was out of date and it offered no entertainment or political communication purpose.

The following program was just as ridiculous. The interview with Carmel Mifsud Bonnici was utterly devoid of content or message. Is anyone interested in the games he played when he was a child or whether he was involved in religious matters in cottonera? We definitely aren’t interested. What we are interested in, are his views on political matters and what policies he would enact.

Airtime is precious and costs money. Every second should be dedicated to discussing political matters with all the different candidates, amidst jovial music. Not music that makes you want to cry, as it’s too depressing. I’m actually shocked at how they are wasting precious airtime on a daily basis, even more so in the run up to an election. Who on earth is in charge of communicating messages through the radio station? Whoever it is should be fired on the spot.

David Thake should take over all the senseless afternoon programmes especially during the election campaign. The history of old music and horoscopes are past their sell by date.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that I work for a political party just because you yourself do.

It’s AD which is in the business of turning voters away. I believe I was one of them once, a long time ago.
