In reply to Matthew Camilleri. I think you'll find that the FIAU reports were written long before the sacked officials joined the FIAU. They were still in their 'probationary' period, which is why the government was able to ask them to leave without giving them a reason why.

Why? Cos someone was sacked? It is very possible that the documents that were leaked were all the information that was needed to know who leaked them. Remember, leaking such documents is still a crime, even if done for the ‘right’ reasons.
This is a method that Thatcher used to use, where briefing documents used to have different punctuation and thus any leak could be easily traced back to just one individual.
