You think I voted Labour by the same measure that if one is critical of one party, that person must have voted the other, or if one is critical of both one must have not voted.

Or my favourite, voted AD. I voted yet I'm critical of all the parties big and small, I doubt even you can admit that there is a perfect one.

In terms of corruption, yes, in different elections, people had to accept the fact the party they voted for might have the better choice for them even though they are clearly corrupt. Maybe I am being cynical but I don't remember one local general election that a party won without a cloud of corruption over it, except maybe 1987.

Throughout the 90s it was PN, with the obvious one, Dalli, who I think we both can agree was corrupt. It was very much an open secret, and he was elected with PN right up until he was EU Commissioner. Now it's PL's turn with those two clowns.

I don't think even you can argue that there was an election between 1987 and 2008, inclusive of both, that PN wasn't the better choice. Still many did the 'majtezwel' over those two decades, and thank god.

This time, even I am not sure who the better choice was. Post-election, I'm hoping it was Labour, because there's nothing we can do about it now.

How do you think they started out? I'm guessing you weren't around much in 1987.
What an attitude. "They're both the same so majtezwel vote Labour."

People who say that are generally looking for justification for not voting at all or for voting Labour.

I have yet to hear anybody say "They're both the same so I'll vote PN."

You assume that all people want to be part of an EU that hasn't managed to stop this corruption, debasement of passports, and erosion of tax base.

Should London continue to allow its prime properties to be bought via companies and trusts using fees paid for setting up Panama companies? If the EU can't stop one of its member states acting like this, what confidence does that give?

Once Joseph Muscat flogs Malta's EU membership to death, financial aid and sale of passports, his logical next step will be the Maltese version of Brexit, unshackling himself from all the EU's democratic roots.
