It goes back way beyond that. Super One was just a re-manifestation of Xandir Malta 1971-1987 (to which PBS has also returned).

It started when Dom Mintoff accused Paul Boffa of incest in order to usurp his leadership. That is the point where Malta’s political development froze in time and why we find ourselves passing remarks about normal countries. In ‘normal’ countries, parties like Labour would not get more than 15% of the vote, if that.

Simply ashamed to call myself Maltese the truth however is that whilst one may argue that Labour are in government because of a weakened PN the real truth is that Labour are in government because a good percentage of those who voted Labour do not understand the seriousness of the matter.
