I’m quite happy to post your comment. I received several messages from people who had spent the best part of the week trying to ‘persuade’ him, and my response was: Hugo Chetcuti has just the one vote, like Cetta tal-Hobz. And you’d have been better off running after Cetta tal-Hobz, because she’s not going to come after you for a permit or a licence in return for her one vote.

To another one of them I said: By running after these people, you make me think that you believe a person with money has more votes. He has only one.

And to yet another, I said: If you’re running after his vote, how are you going to make sure that the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit investigates him, and the police pin him down once and for all?

This kind of thing makes me sick.

The Labour Party is Malta’s Conservative part, Angela. Don’t be confused by the name. It’s the attitude you have to look at: like speaking about gay rights but also featuring gay men and never lesbians. Like the misogyny: insulting prominent women in public life, portraying women as hysterical, and making it mandatory for every woman who hosts a show on the party television station to wear shoes that, in Europe, only prostitutes wear. And then we have the anti-European Union stance. I could go on, but it’s pointless at this stage.
