I think that making headlines out of Muscat’s buzzwords, speculating about or assuming their meaning without pressing for clarifications is where the press falls short of being as effective as it should be.

Imagine having asked for the meaning of meritocracy, transparency and accountability. I am sure that the recorded replies would by now be considered epic statements of hypocrisy worth airing everyday.

I believe that the correct definition is someone who takes sides with the enemy of a country is a traitor, but that definition does not seem to matter.

If people place themselves above the rule of law and beyond the Constitution, doesn’t that make them the enemy? Who then are Malta’s real enemies, and who, exactly, are the real traitors?

What is happening here in Malta is incredibly sad, frightening and ugly.

I think he qualifies as a cult leader. Same philosophy.

I am also under no illusion that this decision to carry on blogging – as if he ever intended to give it up and not be the center of any attention – is no more than a pathetic ruse and the blog will continue to be used to promote further the government’s propaganda and lies.

We all know of or have been on the receiving end of the hate and vitriol emanating from Joseph Muscat’s blinkered and loyal followers; both on Bedingfield’s blog and other media comment boards.

And the Prime Minister’s recent appeal for ‘unity’ following the election was yet more propaganda, borne out by his disgraceful silence on the recent appalling hostility demonstrated by Tony Zarb and many others toward those viewed as attacking their beloved leader and their country.

It’s in their genes. They can’t help it. And it most certainly will not be contained, toned-down or moderated by Glen Bedingfield, with the result that their hostility will be allowed to fester and grow unabated like a humungous boil on Maltese society.
