Yes we did give our votes to Kristy Debono but only as a clean and honest representative of the Nationalist Party. Certainly not for her to fulfill her and her husband’s personal ambitions. Little did we know.

There was a serious undercurrent which the public was unaware of it seems. No wonder Simon Busuttil decided to call it a day.

Good luck to both of them come next election. They will have to live off donations
if the Nationalist Party will still exist as such. I doubt it.

I dealt with Jean Pierre Debono once on a business matter unrelated to his then role in the Nationalist Party. The impression that he left with me and my colleagues was not a good one. He came across as arrogant and big-headed, not pleasant at all. So I am not so surprised by his course of action.

It is so true that the sectional committees were completely sidelined during the last years.Most of them were dormant, even during the elction. Most of the new membership cards (tesseri) have not been distributed. I wonder what is the backlog and who is holding them. the local sectional committees claim that they have not yet received them for distribution.

The administrative (non-political) positions should be given to professionals and not to MPs or party candidates. This problem has been apparent for so long, and was never tackled.

I think that one of the PN leader candidates proposed that these positions should be given to a paid professional. In today’s world, data collection and analysis is a profession (and a college degree) in its own right.

Delia will be the leader of a party polling about 40,000 votes come the next election and Jean Pierre Debono will have to live off the donations coming from them. Good luck with that.
