If this is a money laundering case carried out in the UK, can the British police be involved? I’m saying this because the Maltese police will obviously do nothing.

In reply to pwg. You miss an important point: it is neither possible nor necessary for a lawyer to hold a client account OFFSHORE. The banks are super-strict about this.

As far as I know, the practice in Malta is for lawyers/notaries to hold a bank account for the purpose of placing in it, for whatever purpose, funds pertaining to various clients.

Typically, notaries hold in it ‘promise of sale’ deposits. The account is clearly designated, for example,”Adrian Delia ‘Clients’ A/c’ ” The lawyer/notary is ultimately responsible for the account and has to be fully aware of the funds provenance.
