Delia lied about the conclusions of this report too.

A report which first states that the leader must be of unquestionable integrity and unimpeachable and then goes on to conclude that in relation to Delia there are serious allegations and several doubts that still need to be cleared is not giving him a clean bill of health but issuing a warning.

Further the report also questions why no due diligence / vetting was done on the candidates, it wasn’t doing that frivolously, it wanted to highlight that due diligence would have excluded some candidates with dark clouds over their heads.

Lastly and given that the ethics committee cannot suspend an election (this is up to the General Assembly if one is called) it recommended that councillors and members vote carefully taking into account the fact that the leader must have integrity and keeping the party’s best interests in mind.

Lastly why is Delia still denying the existence of the account or the receipt of monies in it? He needs to come clean, documents showing he is lying have been published.

One can’t inker with the electoral process once it has been triggered. The Nationalist Party should take a lesson out of all this and ensure that any future candidates are properly vetted before being unleashed on the party electorate.

During Dr. Delia’s press conference the similarity of his voice to Joe Debono Grech’s was uncanny – same voice, timbre and content too.

What’s Dr Delia’s agenda? Does he not see that the accusations made against him are the same for which people protested against the Labour Party?

What makes him think that it’s OK for him but not OK for them? It was very arrogant of him to even present himself as a contender expecting not to be dissected and scrutinised. You are no feather in the Nationalist Party’s hat.

Then along comes Daphne and breaks all the eggs in his basket. What did his expect? He should be thankful to her because what he was trying to hide would have been revealed by the Labour Establishment in the run-up to a general election, and possibly used to blackmail him in between.

It is clear that Mr Delia, despite his rhetoric, puts himself above the good of the Nationalist Party itself. The voters should take note.

The Ethics Committee report has Dr. Joe Cassar’s input. He is one of the best diplomats Malta has ever had. The conclusion of that report is a very diplomatic way of telling Dr. Delia : “you are fired”.

The fate of the Italian Christian Democratic is well know what took place in Italy decades ago.

The PN is facing the same fate if ever Delia is elected as a PN leader.
