What the ex-wife is doing and what she chooses to do is irrelevant to this argument. The only argument here is that Mario DeGiorgio uploaded this photo as a direct taunt to Jason Azzopardi because of his support for Chris Said.

To use a third party in this manner is appalling and shows the levels that Adrian Delia and his crowd are prepared to stoop to.

I feel that they simply took advantage of a conflict-ridden marital separation – with the full consent of one of the injured parties, which is shameful.

Mrs Azzopardi was, until now, known only to the few. If this were a crowd photo you could understand it. Otherwise, being tactical about the what, who, how and why is an essential part of the political message.

He knew it too, of course, and would have done something about it had he been given a vote of confidence from the electorate. Instead he was handed a resounding defeat and that made his position even weaker within his party.

You cannot fight the likes of the Labour Party machine when you can trust very few people from your own party.

Did I do anything wrong?

Without a vote I cannot do more than urge those who have one to do their duty and vote for Dr Said. Now is the time to put into practice the words of the party anthem: “Ejjew Nazzjonalisti, ejjew bl-eluf minn taghkom”.

It is not just the Nationalist Party which needs you now, but Malta itself.

Personally, I will not accept Dr Delia in any political party until he clears his name. Enough harm has been done to Malta.
