Another impression – although it’s a bit coloured by the people I regularly talk to – is that Delia’s support is made up of mostly men ranging from the late 30s to the early to mid-50s.

Even the people in the photos he publishes are mostly within that demographic. The younger people and the older ones do not be appearing to flock to hear Delia’s sermons from the mountain.

This is just a generalisation. There are certainly many women campaigning for him and manning the phones like good little women do, but they appear to be in a minority.

And there are certainly people campaigning for him who do not fall within the above general age group but my impression is that they are also a minority.

The important thing is to get the people who are party members and disgusted or even just put off by Delia to vote on Saturday, 16 September. And please remind them that they need to get their voting document first.

I think they’re trying to use the 70 year old to get to others in that age group. My impression – from the 60-70 year olds I know – is that that’s an age group which regards Delia with suspicion. And l would think there are quite a number of party members in that age group.
