The key part of what I wrote is "They would hand in their party membership card and stop voting PN. No this is not the way."

If Delia is elected and fails in his mission - which is given because he speaks out against key party players - it would be up to the rest to rise to the occasion and show him ways.

We cross the bridge when we reach that stage. He certainly cannot ask all to sign a declaration of loyalty to him, failing which he would send all to a "villeggiatura" as his fascists historical colleagues had done.

Keep calm and reason things out. And let's hope, simply my opinion, that that someone who a commentator had described as "a footnote of some sorts" leads the way.

I don't agree with you at all. No good can come from bad people. This is a fundamental fact that Maltese people, because of their indoctrination in the concepts of sin and forgiveness, rather than human nature, cannot accept.

I accept it. I know it. No good can come from bad people. Adrian Delia is a bad man. He has no conscience. That much is obvious. To expect good from somebody like that is naïve in the extreme.

Quite frankly, no wonder it is so very easy to gull Maltese people in investments and the like.

Voting Labour means that I would largely assent to whatever they do, knowing that they're about to do it. I could never do that, but even if we exhume good conscience and the dire consequences for the country in general from the argument, and think solely in strategic terms of sending a message to the party - I'd still think it's a bad way to go about it because the symbolic implication behind a Labour vote is ambiguous.

The apparatchiks within the party might well think that people have given up on good governance and that corruption is not an issue anymore - however if you invalidate your vote, abstain, or vote for a third party with a 'clean' agenda then the message will be clear.

The disadvantage of this is that you run a greater risk of giving Labour a smaller majority than the one they have now, and a greater chance at a PN win because a vote lost for the PN is not a vote gained for Labour.

Jesus. I can't believe I'm actually discussing this.
