Very well said. As the Nationalist Party’s assistant secretary-general (a senior party official paid by the party itself) he should have distanced himself from any candidate.

Only a few days ago he publicly denied having any connections with Delia’s campaign. But he could not hide his ideology last Saturday.

Hawwadni halli inhawdek. And I think we have seen nothing yet. There still is another of Debono’s promises to be ruled out. We just have to wait and see.

I do not live in Malta but follow developments closely from afar. Where I would look is business partners who had high political ambitions in the party, in the past, which they had to give up because of obscure business dealings.

Freemasonry in Malta is not like British Freemasonry, despite its origins. It is like the Italian P2.

However, some of my closest friends are masons, mainly in the UK, with one in the Netherlands. Perhaps freemasonry is different in Malta.

It would be wrong to tar all masons with the same brush. I note that Delia appears to think there is someone embarrassing about being a mason by saying “Absolutely not, never”. He could just have easily said “No”, without causing offence.
