There is a third option. There are those who know he is sleazy but successfully read the writing on the wall, knew he would be elected anyway and decided to keep their mouth shut to save their own skins.

Deo Debattista chose this route a few years ago when the Panama Papers scandal broke. Go back and watch Mario Frendo interview him outside of parliament and you’ll see what I mean.
