The elderly party members who voted against him are not changing their opinion. Neither are younger ones. And the rest are staring on in dismay.

I’ve lost count of the number of people who have asked me if the Nationalist Party has gone crazy. Face it, Delia is a lame horse and when you decide to back a lame horse, you have to know, at the back of your mind, that you will lose the big race.

He is tainted and those of us with even a smidgen of morality cannot condemn something in one party and then accept it in ours.

You’re wrong about Marlene Farrugia. She has not resigned. That was misreporting by people who don’t understand the terminology. She announced her intention to resign. A new leader has yet to be elected. It therefore follows that she remains the leader until that happens – as with Busuttil.

Utter rubbish. If Delia won 55% of the vote of the Party Councillors and elderly Tesserati his support amongst the party at large is probably at least 75% and growing day by day.

They come from completely different social backgrounds, which is always a terrible idea and a recipe for disaster. The man in that situation seeks to punish the woman for representing something from which he feels excluded – so he controls her, dominates her, deprives her of free access to money and pushes her around like his servant. Dom Mintoff was the prime example of that. And you’re looking at another one here.
