So, what's your point, exactly? There was nothing Busuttil could do to overcome the blatant abuse of incumbency practiced by Labour. There was nothing Busuttil could do to combat the complete lack of morality exhibited by the electorate.

And what would you have us do now? Support a man who has already shown he's happiest surrounded by scum, opportunists and other undesirables. Support a man who has a shady past and a murky present? Support someone who has already been anointed by 'the enemy'?

In my childhood my character was shaped by my parents, of humble origins, similar background to that described by Dr. Farrugia. My parents were genuine folks and although Labour-leaning, they could never accept the plunder and the violence of the KMB days.

In my youth my character was influenced by Eddie Fenech Adami on Xoghol, Gustizzja Liberta. I lived the dream to join the EU. Having worked hard and strived to build a solid professional reputation I could easily transition to Simon Busuttil's crusade against the lack of transparency, corruption and money laundering of Joseph Muscat.

Today, I can never feel comfortable in a party lead by Adrian Delia. After seeing him debate Chris Said yesterday evening, I do find him repulsive to say the least. I after reasoned, straight talk based on facts and a clear strategy. I am after good governance.

I am sorry to say that with Delia the PN will lose my support and vote. It will also lose that of most of my family and friends.

Sorry ladies and gents, but when I look at Chris Said I cant help being reminded of that last episode of "Yes, Minister" when the Rt Hon Jim Hacker MP suddenly dawns on him that the position of PM had landed on his lap.

I would have thought the PN would have learned from when Dr Busuttil was selected. While I did eventually turn in his favour my initial reactions were that Dr Busuttil did not have what it takes to beat those opposing forces. Time proved those initial fears right.

It would have served the country better for the PN to sit back and retool their entire system, face up to all their problems and history.

Now I'm afraid the same mistake is being repeated. Putting in Chris Said by default is not the answer to anything and if the same events repeat themselves then the Nationalist Party is demolished anyway.

Maybe it is for the best. In the meantime the cost to us as a society is enormous. We have lost sense of direction and there exist no more moral boundaries. Personal profit before common good. We do not even have any central authority that defines what the common good is anymore.
