Believe me, that is a Maltese accent. And if you were Maltese, you would recognise it. If he were raised in the United States, he would have an American accent, but he most certainly does not. He dropped out for a reason. There is no way on earth he would, in that scenario, admit to being Maltese because Malta is the size of a small Irish town. You can’t blame him on that score.

Martin is certainly Maltese.

In any case, the man has a marvellous smile and the kindest eyes. I am glad he and Donal struck up such a genuine friendship. There’s warmth and depth in what they share.

In reply to Dortmin Lang. What absolute rubbish. I was brought up drinking wine and taught to swish and smell it. You could always find good wine in the better restaurants. And people travelled.

Whatever his past, Martin chose to leave it all behind. Attempts to identify his origin and to dig up his past bring no benefit to Martin and are of no gain to anyone. Success in those attempts will shatter his present and destroy his future.
