It’s happened to me too. And there was absolutely nothing wrong with the comment.

Two days ago I tried posting the following response in The Malta Far-From-Independent to a pro-Delia commenter who was attacking you for giving his hero a hard time:

“Put yourself in her position. You ask a man, a lawyer to boot, a simple question. The man lies to you. You then expose his lie. He kicks up a fuss and calls you all the names under the sun. He alleges you tried to entrap him.

How would you respond.? I can tell you that if it were me, I’d certainly give him a verbal shredding.”

They binned my comment. A shame. It used to be my favourite paper by quite a long chalk.

Even more ironic is that during the 1930s the Partit Nazzjonalista had accused Gerald Strickland of being actively involved in Freemasonry, even actually producing as witness in court to that effect a certain ‘Terinu’ who testified that he had laundered Strickland’s ‘fradal’ (aprons).

On a related note, Freemasons at that time were referred to colloquially as “ta’sej a sette” – the door number of the Masonic Lodge at Marsamxett being 67.

There was also widespread belief that Freemasons possessed the ability to anoint themselves in oil at night and fly on wooden planks from place to place.

In believing all that Adrian Delia tells them, Delia’s supporters display a similar mindset.

It’s just my name for them. Dawk tal-fradal.

This is not merely conspiracy talk; there are those members of the Freemasonry circles that are the powerbrokers of this island, dealing heavily in influence and money, and we’re already aware of that which these agents are capable of.

May I ask, though, what is meant by ‘Society of Aprons’? It’s the first time I’ve heard it and, for the benefit of others alongside myself, I’d like to form a deeper understanding.

I have so far written what I pleased about Adrian Delia, but I have noticed that vicious comments about me are being uploaded while comments of legitimate criticism of Delia are being deleted.

The person in charge of moderating comments is a Delia supporter. I am not giving away anything here or betraying anyone when I shouldn’t. He has made his support of Delia and his anger towards me public on Facebook.

I tried to comment on today’s editorial and on Adrian Delia’s auto-hagiography, but of course they were removed. No doubt I’ll find myself banned soon. Are you being pressured to modify your stance at all or is it just us common mortals?
