The contrast between politics and Politics in the PN has never been as sharp. It’s as if the flow is interrupted. Now we know why JP Debono did what he did.

Labour on the other hand is a closed circuit.

The difference is that the Nationalist Party has supporters who object wildly and loudly to having a sleaze in the party leadership, unlike the Labour Party, whose supporters did not object at all to having Konrad Mizzi and Chris Cardona in the deputy leadership.

My personal opinion for what its worth is that our present day political class has become a bunch of cowards who are only interested in self-preservation.

That’s why people such as Konrad Mizzi, Joseph Muscat, Keith Schembri and now Adrian Delia and Co are managing to make headway practically unopposed.

These individuals are driven by greed (the power is just the means to being able to let rip with that greed) but most probably they are either hard up, i.e. have no hope of making it on their own – that is to say designer everything and 6-star holidays type of making it.

Individuals such as Keith Schembri and Adrian Delia to me appear to be in financial difficulty and see politics as a way out and also a means of making more money illegitimately. Clearly therefore these people are going to risk all and double down if need be to the very end.

Faced with such an aggressive lot the current political class is just no match.
