I think you need to redefine your normal. Normal people in their 40s don’t behave like that, and if they do, they keep the pictures to themselves and don’t post them on open Facebook pages to show how cute and kooky they are. If my parents had behaved like that in their 40s my sisters and I would have given them hell for it.

The point being made is we (normal people) all have photos like that, and it has nothing to do with being fat (which possibly covers half Malta), all looking like a nerd (which possibly covers more then half of Malta). It’s pure bullying when people make fun of this couple on social media about the way they look in this photo. Let’s keep it to constructive criticism not some spell check on English grammar.

A simple guideline is to remove the other person from the equation when you’re in doubt as to whether to use ‘I’ or ‘me’.

I goofed around, not ‘me goofed around’ – therefore ‘my wife and I goofed around’.

Other than that: the point being made was not about the goofing around but about the goof-like fat nerd.
