I’m sorry, but who mentioned money-laundering? There are myriad reasons why a bank would shut down your current account and leave the others open.

Exactly. That’s why he has an overdraft account and not a current account. No bank closes down accounts on which you owe it money.

All overdraft accounts have an agreed amount of maximum overdrawn money. If you exceed that amount the cheque will bounce and the account holder will be debited with a Eur 23.29 fine for every time a cheque is presented.

I don’t agree. I know the past 12 months have been the year when, for some reason, it was cool to vote stoopid, but I’ve got a feeling that Chris Said will be OK. Things come in threes. We’ve had Trump. We’ve had Muscat. We’ve had the councillors voting for Deluded over Said. Now it’s Said’s turn. Daphne, thankfully, has done enough work, single-handedly, to convince normal people that Delia is a fraud.

If I’m wrong, shoot me. It would be an act of kindness.

Even the wording used seems so contrived:

“…the bank statements pertaining to your active (this word is extra) deposit accounts (an Overdraft is not a deposit) held with the bank, designated in your personal name (this wording is also redundant).”

These two statements mean very little to me. First and foremost, they were requested on 11 September, just three days ago when, what we are really waiting for is the audit promised around three weeks ago.

Also, without seeing Adrian Delia’s request for information, we cannot really know what the bank was authorised to divulge.

Current account – this is a business overdrafts account and would refer just to transactions carried out by Adrian Delia strictly within business parameters as agreed with the bank, and not his personal current account.

Also, without seeing at least a full page statement, we cannot establish whether the account is being operated and whether any cheques were issued on this account.

Savings – again, without having a full page statement, we cannot establish whether this account is really active.

Also, we have to establish why the statement is stamped as SCHEDULED.

Also, the statement covers up to December 2016 and we therefore do not know whether the account still exists and, if so, what transactions happened since that date.

I seem to be reliving the Konrad Mizzi/Keith Schembri saga.
