He said: “In Malta, we do actually have an independent commission called the permanent commission against corruption – I would suggest that for the parliamentarian to be completely exonerated if there are annnyyy… eee… well… allegations of corruption in his regard, he should submit himself to the judicial system which is obviously completely independent from parliament – it’s one of the pillars of basically democratic society – that would ensure greater transparency I believe and I think that would instill a greater level of trust even amongst the general public.”
