Two are dictators and two wanted to be, but parliamentary elections got in the way.

Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici has said that he has been in contact with Libyan ministers, though not with Gaddafi himself.

He hasn’t volunteered any information about their discussions or about the outcome of those discussions.

KMB looks like a saint – very humble, gentle and will listen to you attentively and with respect.

He is very gently spoken and never raises his voice.

However these gentle traits hide a person who wouldn’t think twice about locking you out of your job and leaving children without proper schooling for thirteen weeks. He is a lawyer who studied trade union law- and was the GWU’s lawyer- but thought nothing of asking teachers to sign a paper in which we were to renounce our allegiance to the MUT.

That’s how much he really believed in trade unions. So much for the right of the workers to unite and better their conditions of work.

Mintoff’s points were six in number, and one of the points was the legitimacy of using violence to attain political ends – that presumab;y qualified him to obtain Gaddafi’s peace prize collected by KMB.

Could some learned historian please divulge when these six points proliferated to “twenty” and which are exactly the other fourteen points?

I suppose Karmenu might put in a word to the Committee so that the 2011 award will go to John Dalli. $250,000 may prove to be adequate compensation in case Gaddafi’s military forces, accidentally, blow up his house in Tripoli.
