Because they are hoping that the people voting for them are too ignorant of these matters to know the difference.

If I am not mistaken, the responsibilities of directors have been increased to the extent that fraudulent actions are criminally punishable, ie possibilty of serving jail time.

I would think that knowingly receiving money from illegal activites counts as fraud.

While it is the shareholders who actually own the company, the directors are responsible for its actual management and running.

The role of a company secretary is a purely administrative role in Maltese companies. One could say that the main duties are to keep the minutes in a board meeting and/or a general meeting and to file application forms with the Registry of Companies.

I guess the difference between the two is effident. So why are Labour even trying to compare the two, when they are so evidently different?
