The minimum requirement in the IIP is to rent a property for 1,333 euros a month. There is no requirement to buy a property.

It may not be the exact same situation in Malta. What is of concern though is the the low price threshold for the required property investment that is set at €350,000 and should be mostly of concern to those home buyers who are looking at an upgrade of their first property. They may find that this market will have significantly different dynamics.

I recall the real estate agents being happy with the IIP. Let them enjoy it now.

80 ‘bendy’ buses sold for €601,200 which is less than the cost of one Maltese passport. That’s 80 Mercedes ‘bendy’ buses sold at €7,515 per bus. This is equivalent to Lm3,226 per bus in old currency for those of you still programmed to work things out in Maltese Lira. Please pull the other one.
